Privacy notice

Who we are
Sahel Public Diplomacy Centre (SPDC) operates sahelcentre.com. Our principal office is in Glasgow, UK. To ask about your information or exercise your rights, contact us and mark your message “Privacy enquiry”.
Contact enquiries
Our contact form collects your name, email address and message. We use these details to respond to your enquiry, discuss possible work or partnerships, and manage related correspondence. Please do not send sensitive personal information unless we have agreed an appropriate way to receive it.
We rely on our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and managing professional relationships. Where you ask us to take steps towards a contract with you, we may process the information necessary for those steps.
The form sends your enquiry to SPDC’s email mailbox. It does not store a separate copy of your message in the WordPress database.
Retention
We retain routine enquiries for 12 months after the conversation closes, then delete them unless they are needed for ongoing work, a dispute or a legal obligation. Correspondence that becomes part of a project or contract may be retained for longer according to that purpose and applicable requirements.
Website operation and service providers
GoDaddy provides our website hosting and security services. Our enquiries are delivered to a Microsoft 365 mailbox. These providers process information needed to operate their services. Technical information, including IP addresses, browser details and request logs, may be processed to deliver the website, diagnose problems and protect it against misuse. Our form also uses a short-lived hashed IP identifier to limit repeated submissions.
The website loads fonts from Google and a GoDaddy traffic-measurement script. Requests to these services can disclose technical information such as your IP address and browser information. WordPress uses cookies for administrator login and preferences; you do not need an account to use the contact form. Your browser allows you to manage or block cookies.
Our providers operate internationally, so their processing may take place outside the UK. Their privacy information explains their processing and transfer arrangements: GoDaddy, Microsoft and Google. Contact us if you need further information about how your enquiry is handled.
External links and photographs
Links to Google Maps and X take you to services with their own privacy notices. Our gallery contains photographs of gatherings and workshops. If a photograph raises a privacy concern for you, contact us with the page or image link so we can review it.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access to or correction of your personal information, ask for deletion or restriction, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and request portability where applicable. Contact us through the form above. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Changes to this notice
We will update this page when our website or the way we handle information changes.
